When there is a very little tooth structure left, we have to restore the tooth with porcelain crown.In cases when a tooth is missing, although placing implant instead is our first choice, the cases where implant is contraindicated, we have to replace this area with a bridge. The teeth on either side of the missing tooth/teeth are prepared to serve as abutments to hold the prosthetic tooth/teeth in place.We prefer high quality materials such as all porcelain or porcelain fused to precious metal restorations according to the esthetic, biological and mechanical needs. Even in esthetic cases where improved strength is important, we use metal free zirconiumdioxide supported porcelain crowns which blend in naturally with your own teeth and gums.

The implants are little titanium roots which are placed into the jaw bone where teeth are missing.Implants are the latest technological products in dentistry. In 2007 as an average of 1,5 million implants were applied in all over the world. As well as restoring function and esthetics, implants can preserve facial structure by preventing the bone loss which occurs when teeth are missing.In general all implant procedures are performed with a simple local anesthetic injection in a comfortable dental chair. The diseases of the periodontium (periodontal diseases) are the most common factors for tooth loss in all over the world.

Generally, oral hygiene procedures that you do at home such as brushing and flossing and routine professional treatments done by your dentist such as ultrasonic scaling are enough to prevent periodontal diseases.

Impacted Molars

Extraction of impacted third molars (wisdom tooth) is one of the most common procedures in dentistry.

We do not prefer to extract every impacted tooth unless it is a threat to neighboring tissues and tooth. When we are dealing with impacted tooth which is totally covered with bone, we recommend sedation for our patient’s comfort.

TMJ Dysfunction

The term “TMJ Dysfunction” describes an imbalance in the relationship of the jaw to the skull.

This imbalance causes two problems for those that suffer from it. First, it leads to improper alignment of the Temporomandibular Joints (TMJs) which connect these two bones. Secondly, it creates disharmony in the muscles which attach to the bones. The cascade of painful symptoms that arise solely from these two problems is staggering to most people.
